Episode Number 69Tamsen Webster on New Routines

As the VP, Strategy for Social Media Explorer and the agency behind it, SME Digital, Tamsen draws from a variety of tools and experiences to help brands make strategic change happen. While she began her career as a change management consultant, Tamsen found herself managing change recently when she switched from a physical office with co-workers to a home office with a virtual team. We couldn’t wait to discuss this and more.

Show Notes

Tamsen Webster loves making things makes sense. In addition to this being a part of her work at SME Digital, she also likes honing her own work routine. After being a “tried-and-true office girl” for years, Tamsen poured over all the best books and resources to develop the perfect routine. However, she quickly learned that the routines that worked best at work didn’t always translate to home officing.

For example, in an office her most productive time was first thing in the morning. At home, she found that she was more productive in the afternoon and evening. She also uses her evening hours for projects that energize her such as her work with Oratium and producing TEDx Cambridge. She utilizes Kanban Boards to keep her work organized visually though tools like LeanKit. Like many of this, she’s still figuring out what works best.

What are the 3 Apps Tamsen Can’t Live Without? The password app Keeper, a Weather app she loves called Forecast.io, and the Flight Tracker app help her keep her life and work organized and moving.

Shout-outs and plugs! Nick kicked things off by shamelessly plugging his Content Marketing Boot Camp, reminding listeners that they can save big on registration using promo code WORKTALK, while Tamsen closed us out with a big shout to Social Media Explorer as well as Oratium for providing her with the foundation and freedom to do the work she cares about.

Until next week, we’ll see you on the Internet!
