Episode Number 31Liz DiAlto on Why Willpower Sucks

Fitness and lifestyle coach, speaker, and sought-after fitness personality, Liz DiAlto is on a mission to help millions of women across the globe get the bodies and lifestyles they crave. At the core of everything Liz creates is a belief that willpower sucks and simplicity, motivation, and enjoyment are the non-negotiable keys to achieving success. As you can imagine, a lot of this relates to how we get work done, as she discussed on this week’s Work Talk Show.

Show Notes

When we asked recent Work Talk Show guest Amy Porterfield who we had to have on the show, one name came to her mind — Liz DiAlto. As a fitness and lifestyle coach, Liz has created a successful online business based on helping people reach their full potential.

How does she do get it all done? She focuses on one or two core things each week that keep her business moving. For starters she creates the one or two weekly videos that power her site and help her clients. She's also a contributing blogger on several sites. Like recent guest Dan Martell, Liz plays to her own strengths and outsources areas of weakness. As a self described "non-techie," she farms this piece of her business out so she can focus on tasks where her strengths lie, like being an engaging personality.

This too relates to fitness, as she notes, "you can only will yourself to do stuff you don't want to do for so long. It's the cumulative efforts that get results." Defining your own personal success is key. Growing up she dreamt of "being a millionaire." While she's not reached that monetary goal (yet!) she is living the life she's always wanted. This fitness coach also isn't afraid to get some coaching herself. Recently when her schedule took over the last few months, Liz hired a trainer to help her stay accountable and get back on track.

For shout-outs and shameless plugs, Nick mentioned past guest Mitch Joel's upcoming book, Ctrl Alt Delete, while DJ gave a shout to his dad on his birthday. Liz mentioned her membership site and YouTube channel as great sources of recipes, workouts, and other fun stuff.

Until next week, we'll see you on the Internet!

Not that you need coaching but if you liked what you heard (or even if you didn't), head over to iTunes and give us a quick rating and review to help others find the show.
