This week’s guest joined us from the ski slopes of Park City Mountain Resort in Utah. As Director of Engagement for one of the top tourist destinations, Krista Parry is responsible for building relationships for a business with some extreme peaks in every sense of the word. Before she hit the road on a work/play vacation with the family, Krista spoke with us on not judging, defining success, and everything we can learn from NBC’s Parenthood.
Each week in the show's short existence, we've found ourselves remarking after recording that "We had no idea the conversation would go there." Not in a bad way either! When you talk about something as broad as work and balance the conversation can go anywhere. It has and the results have been a lot of fun. This week Park City Mountain Resort's Krista Parry took a step back and helped us all think about the loaded phrase "having it all." What does this mean and, more importantly, why are we as a culture so judgmental about this? Her answer is one she often shares with team members who struggle with this, "You're the only one who can define your success." Great conversation with a great guest. On a lighter note, this led to a relevant aside about that week's episode of Parenthood which also dealt with "having it all." And then both hosts and our guest admitted to crying during this show nearly every week. Thanks, NBC. Shameless plugs? Krista's Snowmamas is a great community that you should check out. Nick also mentioned how his team was collaborating with Chatter, while DJ had a great read on supporting authors by actually buying their books. A novel idea. See you next week!
