Episode Number 63Kerry O’Shea Gorgone on Maximizing Time

Kerry O’Shea Gorgone is a speaker, writer, attorney, and educator. She hosts the weekly Marketing Smarts podcast for MarketingProfs. She is also a contributing writer for numerous sites, including MarketingProfs, Huffington Post, Mark Schaefer’s {grow} blog, and Social Media Explorer. With all of these digital irons in the fire, we couldn’t wait to ask Kerry how she juggles all of this.

Show Notes

Kerry O’Shea Gorgone gets all of this done by maximizing ALL of her time. In airports, traveling to events, in the hotel, etc. She does this so she can switch off entirely when it’s time to focus on her two kids. A critical component of doing this, though, is the fact that she’s chosen to do something that she loves.

She also doesn’t spend too much time worrying about what other people think of the work she produces. Instead she focuses on pleasing the people who matter, like her boss at the MarketingProfs podcast (and past guest) Ann Handley. For the most part, Kerry is a digital nomad working here, there, and everywhere, however, she acknowledges that she gets distracted easily.

What are the 3 apps Kerry can’t live without? Spotify, Stitcher Radio (for consuming content on the go, of course), and Trello.

Shout-outs and plugs! Nick kicked things off by shamelessly plugging his Content Marketing Boot Camp, reminding listeners that they can save big on registration using promo code WORKTALK. DJ gave a shout to Alexandra Merrett who sent us some great feedback on the podcast — thanks Alexandra! We’d love to hear from you too! And Kerry gave a shout to Mack Collier, host of #Blogchat, who has something to do with a big podcast announcement Kerry has coming up.

Until next week, we'll see you on the Internet!

Many great takeaways! (Do something that you love & you can't please everyone).  I'm going to try Trello.  Thanks for the insights.
